Maybe Zed doesn't have some prior hatred of Greg Bird. Brett Kimmorley had a better game than Bird IMO also but you wouldn't give him a point if he made 100 tackles, scored 5 tries and made 25 line breaks. Birdy played well bar 2 handling errors.

i will credit bird if and when he has a good game

i dont hate any football player - i hope bird goes well - but to say he was in the top 3 on the field on saturday is a stretch IMO

Are you saying that you have no pre-conceived ideas about Greg Bird? He was just below Kimmorley, Stevo and Peach this round. He is going to be something if can eliminate those couple of handling errors he has.

Are you saying that you have no pre-conceived ideas about Greg Bird?

I think he's exercising his right to express his opinion and that opinion was that Kimmorley played better than Bird.

You might be interested to know that I thought Bird played better than usual, but there's no doubt at all that Kimmorley was better. You even said so in your points McSharkie. I dont see the issue?

I believe that you and Millers set standards for Greg Bird that are impossible for him to reach. Millers started a whole new thread on the topic based on getting the word out that Bird was worse than Kimmorley. I just reckon he gives it to him for no reason. Bird was very close to getting a point for mine too and alot of people have given him a point or two. Ofcourse he has the right to express his opinion SS, just as I do. Are you a mod now? I am surprised you even remember enough of the game to give a rating!

Millers is saying Kimmorley > Bird!!! Why even debate that?

Ofcourse he has the right to express his opinion SS, just as I do
It just seems that you are having a bit of an each way bet

You've said Kimmorley was better than Bird
Now youre saying Millers is being unreasonable by saying Kimmorley is better than Bird

And what people have said is that it is YOU with the pre-conceived opinions on Bird! Leader of the Birdy fan squad!

For what it's worth I thought he played reasonably well on the weekend. No bias there, is there?

Bird is playing well this year, bar a few handling errors. Nothing pre-conceived.
Millers doesn't give him enough credit for that IMO.

Basically in this thread he is saying that Bird was nowhere near Kimmorley on the night. I agree that Noddy was slightly in front of him but it isn't ridiculous for people to have it the other way around.

At the end of the day I think Bird deserves a bit more credit.

As for me being the Leader of the Bird fan club, why not? He is a Shark, and I am a fan. I remember you used to think he was the next big thing 2 years ago. For some reason you really got on his case last year. He has improved this year and if I say what i think in response to people bagging him then that's up to me.

You and Millers can't honestly say that you don't have it in for him.

Good on ya then. We all should. I reckon he is. Millers doesn't. We disagree. So what, it will happen 2000 more times this year. I am over it already.

i can honestly say i dont have it in for him

relax mcsharkie this thread is a tongue in cheek jab at el garbo - he will have one back at me

for the record i think bird will be a good player - he is still very young and was last year thrown into a very inexperienced back line

he will improve - his age indicates this

nothing would make me happier than seeing him do well

all i am saying that 5/8 is not a strong position at the sharks at the moment

truce please mc sharkie - this forum is for discussion - people will disagree

Truce? Yeah OK. See my post, the one just above yours. I wasn't aware that I was part of anything other than discussion.

Just quietly, Birdy is becoming a fave of mine.
I think he could be a bolter for SOO on the bench maybe.

Don't laugh, I'm serious...

Since when do you give the 3-2-1 in order of the best player?
I've always given my 3 to the best player IMO and the other points for different reasons.
If somebody contributed in a huge way for the team I may give them 2 rather than the second best player. (eg McGoldrick did a great job out in the centres this week which we needed) .I I gave him 2 points. He wasnt the 2nd best player IMO but thats why I gave him 2.
Nutley played well but gave away a stupid penalty or 2 so I never considered him.
Is this a sin or wrong or something?

you may well have a point foz

i naturally assumed awarding points would be the best player 3 2nd best 2 etc

Is this a sin or wrong or something?

no

you can vote who you want - after all it is only an internet forum

if we were paid judges however some people probably would have an issue with your point of view

Since we are talking about rights to express opinion, it is Garbo's opinion that Birdy played better than Noddy, so why start a thread up about it?
