Youngster Watch: Todd Carney and Greg Inglis

I'll just say, my heart was in my mouth for that entire match and it really was an absolute ripper!

Great work by the Storm to come through in the end, but gee the Raiders made it tough! I just hope Jason Smith's knee isn't too bad, but i'm absolutely certain that the Raiders will rustle a fair few feathers in the finals and my tip is that they will at least be there come Preliminary Finals.

But on to the youngsters, Todd Carney (and the two Canberra wingers, the names escape me), were absolutely outstanding. Purtell(?) and Graham were simply superb, with Carney to be the Australian half-back down the line for Austraila. It wasn't just that miraculous kick for touch that everyone raved about, but the way he played tonight and for the majority of the season simply exudes class and i'm sure he'll be revered as highly as the Johns' and the Buderus's down the track!

Now I don't like tooting the horn of one of my own teams players, but how good is Greg Inglis. Just the magic he seems to come up with out of nowhere is un-fricking-believable! That intercept try and those darts from dummy-half almost freaked the hell out of me as they were just so unexpected! I really hope he makes the Australian team this year and it doesn't really matter where they put him, he could slot into the Front Row job I bet and do a fantastic job!

Truly a great game of Rugby League and it's just great to see the young stars of the game really stepping up these days! :D

Carney still hasn't got his kicking game perfected for mind. In the oppostion 20 his bombs don't have as much havoc as one would from a Johns. But he may fix that with more games.

Inglis well hes the all round package. Tall, big and fast, simply magic player.

Bah, you're too harsh on Carney Aussie. He's one of the best young half-backs i've seen in my life (admittedly I havn't seen too many :p), but I rate him as one of the next marquee players of the competition. His running game in particular is just to die for!

Preliminary finals, lol.

Preliminary finals are the 3rd week of finals aren't they(hoping I havn't got them confused). Raiders are a far superior team to alot of the other clubs in the Top 8 and as I said, will make the 3rd week of the finals (if not all the way).

In my opinion, they're also a better chance than Manly, who hinge on the form of two players, Orford and Kennedy.

Bla bla bla.

Manly don't have a sudden death final in Melbourne to win.

Pray tell, if the Raiders can't beat Melbourne at home, in front of their biggest crowd since Dailey retired, when Melbourne have nothing to play for, how on earth will they beat Melbourne at Olympic? Ffs.

Manly will be out in straight sets, 6-0 6-0.
I'm so glad you're being consistent, I'm pretty sure you said we wouldn't make the finals a month ago. The second you start rating us, we're screwed.

Definitely not doubting his halfback qualties and his running game I would rate up there with the best. Absolute handful with ball in hand and his long kicking game is right up there.

The only plausible explanation for PL winning the premiership and for the NRL team to be bundled out 'in straight sets' is that Burns gets injured and Witt gets promoted.

I think the status quo is a sufficient explanation for that occurrance.
