Mind you, I can't drink cider anymore after devouring 4 dollar Bullmer pint special there one Friday evening.

Bloody Hell. The Harbourview hotel. It's right under the Harbour Bridge in the Rocks (Keep walking past the Mercantile and you will find it). Got a great view as well.

And if you want something in the burbs (Glebe), forget the Friend in hand, try the Toxeth Hotel. Which has a great TAB area.

Went to the Harbourview about 3 weeks ago, great pub and not as pricey as the other pubs around the rocks area, good food and great watching the people come back after the bridge climb. The down stairs bar has changed a bit since they filmed Starstruck there back in the early 80s.

The Union Hotel down the bottom of King st. lots of TVs and an awesome tap list

Do they still show footy games at the Union ? Thought they were concentrating more on the live music these days, haven't been in there for a while but do agree about the awesome tap list.
I have watched a few Saturday games at the Botany View Hotel just down the road, they had a great bistro there too but it has changed hands just after Christmas so haven't tried to the new one yet. Other pubs in the area where I watched football at times are the Warren View just down the end of Enmore Rd and the Bank hotel always seems to have games on when I walk past.

You are going to Adelaide? Down there footy doesn't mean what you think it means.

They they still show the footy at the Union but yeah it might occasionally clash with live music. Most of those options are good though I doubt youd get a lot of joy at the Bank on friday or saturday evening these days, it'll be mobbed with fancy people. The Townie would be a better option in that immediate area.l

Coopers is decent. Probably the most old school pub on the main drag of King St. They'll have the footy on too.

Haha it was pretty shit tbh. TVs kept cutting out for a couple of seconds at a time. We wandered our way down towards the Enmore later (Meshuggah gig) and stopped at Kellys and Duke. Duke not bad.

Yeah true about the Bank, I have never watched the footy there, just seen in on the screen when I've walked past on sunday arfternoon. Used to love sitting upstairs at the townie but the bistro has changed so many times I just can't be bothered with the place anymore. I do sometimes watch the a game at the Southern Cross at St Peters as it's only 5 mins away from home, techinacally it's my local but there are better pubs up the road at Newtown and Enmore.

Righto back to the city - where do people go to watch NRL/sports?
Not a fan of the Casino. Most city bars i frequent for drinking are just not good for watching the footy - poor seating, awkwardly placed or no screens.

I rate Forresters in Surry Hills but that's not really CBD. ideas?
