It is the most evident thing. The problem is, the gun players who were doing those 1% things last year & even halfway through this year, have now realised, we dont have Ennis & more importantly, Barba at the back.We miss ennis badly
And barba
That's the difference
Being at the game, you see stuff you don't see on TV...
Segeyaro repeatedly took forever to get back onside after the Broncos kicked - literally walking slowly... This from an interchange player!!!
Result - under-7s stuff - 'Who's going to dummy half?'
you just arent in the same sentence as the storm and broncs this year. its an obvious gf if the raiders cant get going. broncs and storm both have young forwards playing for feeder clubs that are better than 4 or 5 of the forwards you used last night. It is the most evident thing. When you you are a player & you know the players now in those 2 position are not a scratch, on who were there last year, the 1% plays stop. eg. Gal was absolutely lazy last night. His worst game I have ever seen. He played that game with his eyes closed almost. On autopilot.
Seggy has been too slow to fit in. But Ennis took quite a few & Maloney took over half the season last year, to even look reasonable. But by now, they all know.
Seg aint going to get there & Brailey doesnt have it.
Holmes is 8 years away from being Barba class.
The players know, they are looking for easy options .
Only a miracle game from Holmes & Seg next week can turn this around now.
I disagree. It's there somewhere they just have to find it. Players like Maloney and Bird injured doesn't help. And players are way down in form like Graham chiko and Chadyou just arent in the same sentence as the storm and broncs this year. its an obvious gf if the raiders cant get going. broncs and storm both have young forwards playing for feeder clubs that are better than 4 or 5 of the forwards you used last night.
Gal and the coach don't seem overly worried. A few things need fixing, but one thing that frustrated me was players over running the player passing the ball. Oh and Chad Townsend skills are shocking
BRING-BACK-BAR-BA!
BRING-BACK-BAR-BA!
BRING-BACK-BAR-BA!
Chant it with me lads!
The ref, oh no. Not the rubVal - lots of effort and yards, but no creativity
Feki - Mistakes and not getting us on front foot around ruck like last year
Loots - Ok but nowhere near least year or early season form
Capes - Poor, found out positionally
Beale - Probably our best and only player who's improved this year
Jimmy - Poor, not fit and a bit sulky
Chad - Poor, needs to go forward and be a threat with the ball 1st and foremost
Feefs - All over the shop - needs to concentrate on hard yards
Nu - Ok
Prior - Nowhere near last year's form
Lewy - Reliable
Wade - Out of form
Gal - Looks tired
Seggy - needs time that we probably haven't got this year,
Lats - Plodder
Boogs - no impact this week - carrying an injury?
Taga - Bit of impact, but not just a number
So out of the lot, there's only Beale playing as well or better than last year.
The ref was awful - pinged us for '2nd effort', Brisbane do much worse and not
Pinged once. And just a little thing, it has to be 'play advantage' at the sin bin and we score, of not, it should be a penalty try - if they hadn't done that, we would have scored - proof is the fact that we did anyway. Cummins was pre-determined that he was not going to give us anything all night.
Last night was like origin 4 with a similar resultYes, so we have to get ourselves in a position to play them late into the finals or GF.
