    2024 R3 Sat - Canterbury 32-0 Gold Coast @ Belmore

Here's the thing ... an over-abundance of tiny backs behind a nice-guys pack = 4-60 to start a season. Hopefully, Des isn't blind and points out that just running on the field doesn't equal a pay cheque. They should all donate their last two cheques to charity.

    2024 R4 Sat - Gold Coast 14-30 Dolphins @ Cbus Super

In advance, I want to complain about the referees ... who is the stupid bastard who's going to allow them to blow "time on". World of pain doesn't quite cover it.

Match Discussion: Round 1 vs St Geo Illa @ Cbus Super Stadium, Robina / Yugambeh

Not sure what we will roll-out against the Dogs. Foran for Weaver was a no-brainer while Jolliffe at lock is at best a surprise as ball-handling his hardly been his forte ... sounds like a tactic from Desneyland and I am expecting some last-minute shenanigins. Should be a pretty even contest.

Match Discussion: Round 1 vs St Geo Illa @ Cbus Super Stadium, Robina / Yugambeh

Yep, the very antithesis of what every Titans fan expected. There were no excuses to be eked out of that calamity and Saints played well. Too small, too disorganised and too apathetic in their attention to detail. Des has his work cut out. The fan base, the dwindling fan base, won't stand for...

    The Las Vegas Thread

On the 'any news is good news theme', it would be fair to say that the only people who pooh-pooh the Rock/Malaita grab are league fans who know what it's actually about. To most Americans, just something featuring those two is news-worthy, irrespective of whether they understand it.

    The Las Vegas Thread

Who knows the impression that the promo's have on the US market but they certainly make good viewing. The Crowe video, and the Rock/Malaita and Colin Scotts' interviews are all mint.

    Non NRL competitions coverage

Very happy to have gone off too soon, not an unusual occurrence according to the missus, and for QPlusTV to have been released plus with such a great introductory offer ... let the games begin.

    PNG's back.

I am very sceptical about the mooted PNG franchise having the same funding model as the other NRL clubs (however many) for several reasons not the least of which are: (a) If they are to receive direct funding from two governments (however much) would it be unreasonable for them to expect the...

    PNG's back.

Lol and I'm here too. A pure debate about establishing a rugby league franchise in Port Moresby is one thing and I totally would like to see it but there are so many non-rugby league complexities in the mix, apart from all the "violence" and living standards arguments already made. Australia's...

    Non NRL competitions coverage

Happy to stand corrected on NSWRL TV but their competitions and coverage are still vastly superior to the QRL's as they have been forever.

    18th club, whose next?

Yep, Carl Barron has a good handle on that philosophy.

    Non NRL competitions coverage

You're very right Nutz and the money magnet is supposed to be the QRL and that is one Ben Ikin. Ikin's record in extracting any sort of serious development funding from the ARLC is thus far abysmal ... promised the Cows and Tits the QCup world and ended up with less than nada and the Burleigh...

    Non NRL competitions coverage

In this digital age, with all the talk about junior pathways, broadcast money allocations and promoting the code, where is the coverage of the Queensland heartland competitions? The NSWRL have just launched the NSWRL TV which will show every goddamned thing from HM, SG, Flegg and of course Cup...

    2024 Future Titans

None now by the looks of it, a few hours is a long time in sport :) He's publicly stated he's off chasing the boxing dream and you could hardly blame his logic, "I don't want to get injured playing footy, so I'm going to ditch it for boxing" or words to that effect. Good luck to him.

    2024 Future Titans

You know it's off-season when Courier Mail dribbler Badel follows-up a Titans' posting of 18 year old Alex Leapai Jnr having a trot during the recent trials with a background call to the kid's boxing trainer. From the ensuing conversation a story emerges from aforementioned Mr. Anti Gold Coast...
