The corruption of the AFL is slowly being exposed.

Agree with this - at one stage it was claimed he was the best sports administrator in the country. I will now be extremely surprised if he escapes out of the ASADA situation with his job.

The corruption of the AFL is slowly being exposed.

So pasta should be consigned to the trash can as well? There is a place in Australian sport for both AFL and league, the latter of which is a true sporting import, like most other sports to this country. Cricket is an import from Britain but I for one don't want it banned, especially given we...

Organised crime and drugs in sport investigation part II

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/wada-declares-obesity-drug-illegal-20130423-2ibhh.html#ixzz2RFAEvWyL A yet-to-be-approved for human use anti-obesity drug allegedly injected into AFL and NRL players by sports scientist Steven Dank has been classified a prohibited substance by the World...

    Jesse Williams

Tony Pauline, a respected talent evaluator, has him going late first, but then you have someone like Mike Mayock thinks he's a bit one-dimensional and will be somewhere around mid 2nd round. He had an outstanding pro-day, running well below 5 seconds for the 40 and being excellent in position...

Organised crime and drugs in sport investigation

The biggest impact is on the integrity, or lack thereof, of the AFL. There would be a lot less impact on punters/bookies generally because those teams tanking are at the arse end of the table anyway. It's a huge issue because why would anyone want to watch or turn up to a game where you know the...

Organised crime and drugs in sport investigation

I guess, technically, but I count match-fixing as doing so for like a criminal sydnicate for betting purposes like what happened in Europe, or like what the mafia used to do in the USA with boxing....what the tanking AFL clubs did was to deliberately throw matches (like taking the best players...

Organised crime and drugs in sport investigation

Sounds to me they've got f**k all on either code. This is as bad a political put up job as there is - not surprising Labor is dodging scandals left and right and the so-called "blackest day in Australian sport" is announced. As for match fixing its a hell of a lot easier to fix a soccer match...

NRL convert Israel Folau appears set to retire from Greater Western Sydney

That's the big question - think there will be a difference between getting it all back and then feeling comfortable with it. Probably can get it back pretty quickly, getting used to it something different entirely.

NRL convert Israel Folau appears set to retire from Greater Western Sydney

The Giants won't fold because Folau left them.....the AFL have a lot of $ and won't back down even if the Giants average crowd for the next 2 decades is 4k (which it probably will be). As for Folau - he never should have left - great player and money isn't everything. He was on a fair wicket...

    Jesse Williams

Williams played well this morning, had a concussion so didn't see much of the second half. Nearly got a safety, broke through the lines a couple of times - basically held up his end of the bargain, taking on double teams and being stout at the point of attack. Michigan barely got any rushing yards.

    Lance Drugstrong

As far as I'm concerned Bolt is clean - you have to remember he was always an incredible runner from his junior years onwards. He was world 200 metre junior champion - Bolt seemingly came from nowhere because he's only ever had 2 and a half seasons injury free. He has the degenerative spinal...

    Jesse Williams

Will be following Williams year closely - there will be a lot of draft stuff come up about him through the year - he gets a small mention in this (go to around 4.23): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiX0rY53upc He bench pressed 600 pounds the other week or something - which doesn't mean a whole...

    Lance Drugstrong

He failed a test in 1999. Also Flo Jo and Marion Jones basically did the same thing as in passed every test - do you think they were clean? This is a layman's language scientific paper on the history of doping in the tour writeen in 2009...

    Lance Drugstrong

Finally justice has caught up to Drugstrong, stripped of his titles. Been a long time coming. Probably cost Cadel Evans at least another tour win (I think Evans probably should have won at least another 3 tours if the cheats were removed from the sport) and yes I do think Evans is a clean...

    Favourite video game series

Total War has to be up their with Civ as the best series of all time. Doom is obviously a classic and the first two Dooms were ground-breaking at the time - Doom 3 was a classic horror game as well. Back in the day I was also partial to the Heroes of Might and Magic Series. Heroes 2 3 and 4 were...

    Tim Tebow making progress

As a Jets fan myself was fairly well disgusted we picked him up, especially given the large deficiencies we have on our O line. We have a very good record of trading and drafting under our current GM (Quinton Coples for example, our no. 1 draft pick from this year looks awesome) but getting...
