‘WAKE UP, NRL!’
Aussie comedian Vince Sorrenti has offered up some advice to NRL CEO Todd Greenberg, saying the game needs to lift when it comes to the top end of town.
Sorrenti, who is a Parramatta Eels tragic, does a number of corporate gigs for a range of sporting codes and believes the NRL needs to do more in that area.
“The NRL’s got to get it’s act together on the corporate hospitality front,” Sorrenti told NRL 360.
“They are being had for breakfast by other codes.
“There are some enormous missed opportunities on the corporate front that the NRL aren’t taking advantage of.
“Rugby would be, what, a tenth the size of the NRL and they have three or four times the number of events. They really embrace the corporate community.
“I did a gig last year for the GWS Giants in Sydney and there were 1200 fans, and I’m telling you, a big part of them were rugby league fans that didn’t have an event to go to.”
Yeah fine, he's angling for work, but the question remains, why isn't the NRL doing more in this area?
