Why is it that Cameron Smith gets an explanation for every single ruling from the refs, slowing the oppositions momentum, yet every other captain is shooed away?

Also, what was Billy Slater crying to the ref for after Isaac Gordon smashed him after the chip n chase??

Because he's smart. He realises that if he's in their every 5 minutes like Anasta, or Farah, and full of emotion he'll get nowhere....So the refs will let him speak, because he's usually composed and respectful. He knows exactly what he's doing, and when his team is on the back foot he'll go in there and soak up some time.

That's the melbourne storm game plan. They play to the second. They do the same thing with turning a player on his back in the tackle.

Just like when Slater got binned. He knew exactly why but asked for the explanation anyway. Kept looking up to make sure Slater was off the field.
That pair are filth and a blight on the game.

Well done Sharkies! Great game, both sides very tough and teams will know they really have to bring a top game to beat either side. Melbourne always looked dangerous, but I think the Sharks deserved the win and were the better side, despite having less field position.

Sharks defence in some games, including this one (excluding kick defence) has been premiership like- very hard for Melbourne to get through, Cronk, Slater and Smith all well contained. De Gois, J.Smith, Robson and Bakuya all looked great. For the Storm, Widdop looked dangerous every time he touched the ball, and he is a genuinely classy player and not just a fill in in the world's best spine.

Sharks still need a bit better composure when spreading the ball wide or defending kicks, but otherwise an outstanding game from them.

Welp, there it is. This result just defined the rest of the Sharks season. You would have to think it is now or never for them.

It'll be an honor facing off against Cronulla again in the finals. Well done.

Sharks made many more line breaks, and metres, and missed fewer tackles, but Melbourne still had more ball and looked dangerous. But the Sharks closed it out even though they were under the pump for the last 10 minutes.

So they can still improve their attack and polish, but they were very tough. Melbourne may have been "down" on form, as were the Dragons, Manly and Cowboys apparently when they played us. A lot of it has to do with our great defence and monstrous forward pack.

Sharks played well, seemed to have studied right up on what had been working for us the first 9 rounds.

I serioulsy hope Bellamy is done with Rory Kostjayen and Anthony Quinn on the bench. Surely we have better players then them 2.

Good one Earl. The team's won all bar one game and you're questioning the coaches decision-making.

As a Sharks fan, I was questioning why Quinn was on the bench...

He isn't the perfect coach who can not be criticised...
