The A res 1 minor semi between Berala and All Saints was 28 all at full time. The decision was made by the Canterbury official that extra time would be played under the Canterbury rules and it would be Golden Point. Berala got the field goal and were declared the winner. The problem is that the ICCC rules clearly state that 5 mins each way be played and if no result then golden point. This is a clear error by the Canterbury official and if the protest is won by All Saints they would have to play a mid week rematch. Both sides played valiantly and do not deserve to have to go out a smash the crap out of each other mid week and be in no shape to back up again on Sunday against Penshurst who lost 25-24 To ESA because of the officials error.

Idiocy from the official there. Always going off what they think the rules are rather than what is written right in front of them.

I applaud All Saints for putting in their protest and doing what was right.

Berala have the right to be very upset at their own district administration for what happened on Sunday. They've been busting their arse all season and would have prepared themselves for that clash. All the officials had to do before the finals series is to read the rules and remind themselves of what protocol needed to be followed if extra time occurs.

Word is from AllSaints that the officials were actually offered the ICCC rules to clarify and they would not acknowledge it. Not Good. Good win by All Saints to recover, but they'll be hard pressed to back up after the rematch.

Actually the players were asked if they wanted to appeal as they had to back up mid week. The vote was was unamimous to appeal and some very sore boys backed up on Tuesday night, with a couple unable to take part due to their injuries.:clap:

Interesting that both the regraded sides Hurstville and Penshurst are both in the grand finals. Shows that the regrading system works well.

I think Penshurst A res D1 maybe a bit annoyed that you have All Saints playing in the Grand Final instead of them.:D

Thanks footy59.

Seems to be a convincing win to Hurstville in the top grade, impressive considering they started the year in 2nd division!

I wonder if any current ICCC clubs are considering following the lead of Auburn and Burwood-Ryde in entering the Bundy Cup.

Considering Kingsgrove's poor form in the BRC I'd personally like to see Kingsgrove align with Hurstville to field Bundy and Shield sides. If the clubs were to link up depth would be improved significantly and the side could potentially have a compliant ground in Hurstville Oval.

I have heard that a solution has been found to the wash outs, but have not heard any details. Has anyone heard anything about this ?
