It's a reasonable question from a non-expert to the expert.

This new system purported to be more accurate and comprehensive. Reach is now the principal figure in ratings tables. Often not labelled, let alone explained. There's no 5-city breakdown, nor metro/regional split. Add to that the disappearance of Fox STB data. No small matter since that's where NRL heavily out-rates AFL.

I would say the average person is now less informed. Mostly in ways helpful to Fumble propaganda.

I understand how it works believe me. Simple fact is that football is only one component of tv offerings so I’m not going to assume the new ratings system was introduced to help the floggers. I think it’s just a stupid system based on a false premise.

My boy went to an afl game with his GF last year. He sat in the box stuffing his face watching Manly Penrith on the box. After he said dad I never watched a minute of that crap, he said he doesn't understand why people love this shit, it really is shit
