If the deck looks like the one in the 1st test, then no point playing the 4 pacemen.

I would be open to bringing in Agar and Swepson and "resting" Lyon

Same side if the deck is a green top (laughs), otherwise one or two changes a must imo

Swepson has to get a gig next test, Pakistan play leg spin poorly. They have no problem playing the Bald straight breaker though.

Worrying thing, has hardly played regular red ball cricket for donkeys

Only two Shield games for the summer. 54 overs in total for one wicket.
Agar hasnt played Shield cricket at all this summer gone by, his selection in the test squad is solely from white ball cricket

We had an opportunity to play Swepson for a test or two in the ashes, and now we are gonna pay the price if we pick him as he will need some time. Maybe we are waiting to unleash him in India?

Don't care which quick is dropped and don't care which 2 spinners play as long as there are 2. If quicks aren't threatening, and there is a real risk you will spend 3 days in the field, at least be smart enough to make spinners do a much bigger share of the workload. It pains me to watch quicks bend their back all day long for nothing.

From the long run up to the pressure the fast bowling action puts on the body, being a spinner is just physically an easier thing to do. 2 frontline quicks and 2 spinners on a dead pitch is better than 3 and 1. You wouldn't ask sprinters to run a marathon. So don't ask quicks to give you so many overs for nothing when spinners could do it.
