Sorry all- in a different time zone so didn't get to see the game yet. Here's the 3-2-1 thread

3 -SJ. Yes, there were a couple of errors but he was defensively really sound, he was lethal in their 20 and he sealed the game when we needed him to. So good.
2 - Ford. His defensive game was enormous last night.
1- Berry. Another strong defensive game. He looks like he believes he belongs there.

HM - DWZ, Barnett, Metcalf, AFB.

not the most polished game, the pill was slippery, the Raiders were desperate, and the difference between their being rested off the bye and us being on a short turnaround nearly cost us. But the effort from the whole team was huge and got us home in the end!

3. AFB - by a mile. Does so much important work over long minutes.
2. SJ - wasn't one of his best games but he came up clutch when it mattered and continues to defend well.
1. Curran - the guy was a tackle machine when he came on, cutting down their big guys from the legs all night. I'd like to see more of him.

Egan, DWZ, Harris, Barnett all close to points.

Metcalf had a bit of a shocker.

Pompey continues to be a plod.

3 -SJ, that drop goal will make a huge difference to our season
2 - AFB, close to the MoM in every game for us
1 - Ford, he was everywhere in defence

The team looked a bit flat but that could be due to the 5 day turnaround. Also lot of comments about a number of players having the flu.

The Bye should refresh the team with a great run home

A match we needed. Great for the self belief.

Just a thought - are we better off finishing 3 or 4, thus meaning we play first week in Australia on a DRY track. The conditions at Mt Smart don't neccesarily suit our game style.

That was a massive block of games. Time for a rest and reset. Titans on the GC will not be an easy game.

Metcalf had a bit of a shocker.

Pompey continues to be a plod.
Metcalf still only new to NRL. takes awhile to get that consistency. Took a high tackle to deny him a try that would have put us out of sight earlier.

Pompey is an enigma... Big powerful looking guy but his hitups are the worst of the back 5 by far. Whats that about? Gathers no velocity, does a shuffle just before the line that fools no one and barely makes any metres. Plus hes slow as f**k. Reminds me of Dane "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" Carlaw.
But then he was very good on defence defending our tryline last night...
I doubt if we will re sign him. But a bit concerned about Ali. Hasnt been sighted since his debut against Raiders. There was no mention of a "serious" injury, just that he had hurt his hamstring. Well, its been 6 weeks. If he had torn it wouldnt it have been reported by media? Hasnt been seen in Reserve grade. Whats happened to him?

3. AFB - Other than being awesome, as usual, I loved his annoyed head shake when they levelled for golden point. We just, really care this year. For many many years with our players that would have been a shrug or a blank confused look.
2. SJ - A little mixed for a while but then stole the show in a way that few players in the comp can do. Also credit for effort, he was gassed af but he was the one thundering after Hoppa and Wighton.
1. Curran - Underrated, I hope it's not another Cleary-Inu situation. Josh was chopping down Raiders like nobody's business.

Quite a few dusty hands but still had all that structure and heart and that got us over the line.
Most seasons we lose that comfortably.
