Somewhere in the Pacific
Rip Riley grinned as the Loosey Goosey touched down safely on the crystal clear water. He could already feel the warm Pacific sun tanning his skin and massaging away the aches and pains from another long year out doing secret agent stuff.
Grabbing his bag and a bottle of whiskey, he threw open the door and took in the view before him.
Nothing but white sand, palm trees, emerald blue water, and the grasshut he'd had built on the island.
Nobody else in the world knew where this place was. It was one of a thousand uninhabited islands in this particular corner of the world, and for the next few weeks it would be his base of operations.

Riley woke with a start. He'd been dreaming about Malory again. That time in Brussels...
The ocean purred outside and the wind made palm fronds tap and rattle in a way that usually soothed him.
Something was wrong, though.
Fumbling for the flashlight he kept by the bed, he flicked it on.
A pair of men grinned at him from behind the barrels of pistols.
"No, wait -" he began.
They didn't. They opened fire.
Misanthrope is dead. He was Rip Riley, Town Aligned Ex-ISIS Agent.
