As a Stars supporter, it's quite nice it's all over.
Our season was shaky before it began losing Burns and Maxwell for the season.
Missing Stoinis and Coulter Nile for what feels like half the season hasn't helped.

Looking at bright spots, Clarkes batting has again been a highlight although his actual wicket keeping left alot to be desired. Hatcher has actually been pretty decent. Zampas bowling has been great to see, not so much his captaincy.

Then you look at the not so bright spots
Wood, too expensive. Would rather have had Couchy play instead of Wood and utilize the import spot better
Boult for a number one pick, while he did alright, 8 wickets in 8 games averaging economy of 8 isn't exactly bums off seats. No replacement overseas player either.

The middle order inconsistancy. Larkin, Cartwright, Webster, Coulter-Nile, Seymour have all individually shown they can add useful knocks, sadly for each of them, it's too far in between.
Too many squad players not contributing, Sam Elliot all over the social media it seems but hasn't played, Tom o Connell, Cam Mclure..what did these guys do?
Don't rate Dave Hussey as a coach, next season with a different coach will be interesting. Hopefully we get Maxi back to help and a bit of a squad overhaul wouldn't go amiss.

Where is 'home' these days. Deadset nomads. Albury, Canberra, Homebush, it's stupid of them really.

Two home disasters burn in my mind, probably forever, both at the Showground Homebush

15 v Strikers
Demolished by Scorchers by 9wkts (but beat them well in Perth week and a half prior)

Wadey is the reason BBL needs to be extended, not shortened.
Also the reason a top 5 finals isn't adequate and should be top 7. What if Wadey misses out on playing finals? Top 7 is clearly the answer.

I draw the line at top 8 though. Either win a wooden spoon or the BBL cup. Can't have both. Pick one.

Agree. He carries the bbl like an ant 🐜 carries a cicada.

Hopefully they'll retire Wadey's jersey when he retires. They did it when fellow greats Clive Rose and Anton Devcich retired.
