BLOCKED by Dragons Twitter Roll Call

I have just noticed one the bigger Dragons fans that I know of, has been blocked by the official Dragons twitter account, without justification.

After the issues during the season, one would have assumed that the clubs social media managers would have pulled back on this but it appears that they have not. Obviously, extreme abuse via twitter is unacceptable but to my knowledge, many of the cases have not reached that threshold. This is highly unprofessional and a bad look for a club that has numerous club-fan relationship issues at the moment. Furthermore, the club is lacking compared to another NRL clubs in twitter followers.

If you have been blocked, post here and give a sentence or less on why you were blocked and I will try to keep the top post updated with a list.

The club is still living in the 60's. All this new social media is too much for them & they just expect the fans to turn up no matter what just like the "old" days. Most of the other clubs are on the front foot media wise but not us.

Whether he used profanity of not shouldn't really be of issue especially of the S and F variety. It wasn't directed at the twitter manager (unless Dousty does it to save $$$). Can you imagine how much profanity NFL team twitter accounts get? Probably a staggering amount. Just ignore it and move on.

Im not defending the club, i agree with everyone changes need to made... and i mean big changes!!!
But, put urself in the shoes of the guy who handles that twitter account.
Abuse followed by abuse, and if u guys think its all calm abuse then ur kidding urselfs!
The shit iv seen written on twitter aimed at our club is bad!!! Our fans need to realise that going over board isnt getting u anywhwere.
U get blocked, then what? U get angrier, carry on more, and it becomes worse.
Calm down, say ur piece, without insults, and people will retweet. Your words become stronger.
At the end of the day, if u carry on, the club wins, they block u and u cant do anything about it.

False. The club blocks members, they lose. Members fall off. They shoot themselves in the foot. If the bloke manning the Twitter machine can't handle abuse being thrown at the club (nothing directly at him) they they need to find someone new the man the Twitter machine. Maybe someone with the ability to engage fans, not block them.

Someone fills the role of "Manager - Sponsorship & Digital Commercialisation" at the Dragons. I'll have to look at the structure in the next annual report to know who to direct my concerns on the Membership department and the marketing / profile of the club to.

Growth rate in membership is shocking, as is outwards communication (god knows how poor the internal communication is).
