Cameron Smith / chicken wing tackle

The match review committee turned a blind eye towards a blatant DCE eye gouge. We'll see if lightning strikes twice with Cam Smith.

That chicken wing tackle he did was designed to illegally injure a player. That the tackle did not even attract a penalty is a worry in itself. Proctor will miss a bare minimum of 4 weeks football for that groin injury. Cam should be out of the game for at least the duration of Proctors injury plus a few extra weeks.

So it’s now illegal to tackle around the legs? This is ridiculous
I haven't seen the tackle, so i'm talking from a pure principles basis, but yes certain tackles should be illegal even if they're around the legs.

1) cannon ball tackles
2) charging at kickers legs when they're in the motion of kicking

Common factors in all of this are the danger of the tackle and the threat of injury it poses to the player with the ball. If Smith's done something that meets this, id argue it's at least worth a detailed look at the MRC even if it's not strictly defined as illegal now.

This was nothing like those. It was just Smith had hold of one of his legs and Proctor ended up doing the splits

Why? Because I don’t have a blind hatred for my teams captain? That I don’t think an accident was Smith trying to deliberately injure his friend?
No because you have a blind passion for little Cammy. Every time he f**ks up you come running to defend his honour no matter how wrong he is.

It’s cute. It brings me joy.

So you’ve never defended a player who plays for the team you support?

After watching the tackle again I’m even more convinced that there is absolutely nothing in it. Smith picks up his leg, Curtis Scott wraps up his other leg forcing him down while Smith still had hold of his leg. There’s absolutely nothing in it.

Imagine my surprise, Smith is a blight on the game.. from rorting the cap through to arguing penalties as the bloke lays there motionless on the ground, the sooner he retires the better off we will all be
