Club renovations

I just want a decent place to watch sport, the clubs idea of a "big screen" is a 120cm LG flat screen, not good enough.

When ever the topic comes up with mates as to where to watch insert sporting event here the one place that never gets a mention is the Leagues club. It should be the number one place to go to watch Sharks away games and Rugby League in general.

A projector type system needs to be put in so a "big screen" can actually be BIG enough for us!!!
Make it like Greater Union... hahaha
:D

As for other improvements...
I'm thinking the club needs to attract BIG NAME gigs. Like what Panthers do. Hypnotists and alike ain't cutting it. They need a rock band or 2 to pay a visit (and maybe play 2 songs at Half-Time in a Sharks game before their gig in the Leagues Club after the match).

Well you can hardly accuse them of not attracting big names, a quick search shows that next week thay have Manilow Magic - Mark Bowden presents -Barry Manilow In Concept.

That should attract a younger crowd !

LOL. It would be wrong to think there isn't a market for Barry Manilow impersonators - I'm sure there will be a crowd there, sad as it may seem, and I'd say Mark Bowden would be pretty cheap to book. But why does the club think it should only cater to the over-60s? Why not have this guy on one night and someone decent another night?

As for the Sports Bar concept - it's bizarre that the area's major sporting facility doesn't attract sports fans outside of actual games. When we're playing the Cowboys or the Warriors away - games that most people would struggle to get to - there should be a massive crowd in there, not to mention other teams' games. There's a natural marketing advantage there already - club prices AND genuine sports profile - but they just won't use it.

ABSOLUTELY

There should be a big screen showing the game on the auditorium and it should be a big draw card

That would be good. Tradies is a pretty good alternative tho, there's always a good parochial crowd inb there for the long-haul games

Northies is the only option

Tradies is the most vile venue, no atmosphere, its half full of dregs, the security guards are wankers and to top it all off it's a bloody favourite Labor Party haunt, furthering the trade union movement, comrade.

Well, yeah, I hate unions too, but I rate closeness to Sutho, big screens and cheap p*ss ahead of making a statement against antiquated socialist ideaologies.

Of course, I'm sure I'll be spending a lot more time at Northies now that I'm a member

Thats my Boys' Not many people know this fact but Jimbo and Shire Sharks just finished their degrees in Humility from the Fizman University.

Other notable graduates in the degree of humilty are Dr Andrew Johns and Associate Professor Shane Warne. The outstanding external student goes to none other than the English Rugby Union Coach Sir Clive Woodward.

The course is based on the ability to show humility and meekness in all aspects of life. Our students respect the opposition and are gracious in defeat. Our next graduation will be in March and at this stage we anticipate that Mr Sourav Ganguly will be our next graduate in the Bachelor of Time Management.

I was reluctant to discuss a students progress, but I can confirm that Associate Professor Warne has just about completed 2 more degrees in the fields of Mobile Communications and Pharmacy.
