"We've used [Barba's] money on Fifita..."

I'm not saying they're definitely over the cap but this bit here is such bullshit.

All of our superstars must cost a lot huh.. oh wait... We don't have any.

Look at all the other teams and put a price next to their players. Souths are going to look worse than Dogs. Just that we have got all these guys at the same time.

By all reports, we have one player who is being paid more than $500k / yr - Inglis. Maybe 2 as no one knows what Sam Burgess is being paid. In the past 12 months we have shed several players who were reportedly on good money.

The Dogs reportedly have at least 4 now. Fifita, Morris, T-Rex and Graham. Couple that with the fact that it is known that the Doggies have paid overs for the likes of Hodkinson and now an unproven quantity in Lichaa and that you have other internationals on the books like Eastwood, Inu and Pritchard and you should be able to see why people are scratching their heads.

On the flip side, you've let go of Barba, who wasn't on massive coin anyway and Turner retired.

It just doesn't add up at this stage. Of course, if you start to release a few high profile players in the near future then all will be forgiven.

You see, that's just the thing, at least you get it. Of course we're going to have to let a few players go, but people are pushing the over- the-cap verdict already before even letting us get to that stage.

Lol T Rex is on superstar money, Fifita will be the highest paid prop ever, Graham a close second, that's roughly 3 million on 3 forwards even if you were being conservative in your estimates

Morris is a good retention for the Dogs.

Whilst ever their spine is so dreadful though they are unlikely to challenge for a title

Fifita is not on 850k, closer to 650-700k, T-Rex was for about 600k and Graham is about 600k but that adds up to nearly 3 million, you guys are funny. First the telegraph and media are always lying and making crap up but when it suits your agenda, it's taken as gospel. I'll believe what our CEO says over a bunch of butt hurt cap experts on the net.

Lol. To be roughly close to $3 million all three would need to be on something near $1 million each. None of them are. Castle also said in the interview with SMH that Fifita is not going to be getting $850k

2 million for 3 players.

and planning to throw big coin at Tedesco too apparently.

And bought Lichaa for more than he's worth.

Didn't Klemmer also get a big paypacket?

Then there's Morris, Ennis, Pritchard, Eastwood, Kasiano, Hodkinson, Reynolds, Perrett, Tolman and Inu, and if they all avg 150k each per season, then the club is touching 4 million for not barely half their 25 man squad..

of course people are questioning how they are affording it under the cap.

Cap is 6.55million next year and will be 7 million by 2017, we are getting our signings/re-signings done and of course some players will be let go but that will come later on, people just love to always think something is going on.

and you don't understand why some people are thinking that way?

Yeah i understand it but honestly, people just need to wait and see what happens for the rest of the year and who will be gone from us instead of jumping up and down right away, we can all speculate about the dogs, roosters or whoever but at the end of the day we only get reported figures which may/may not be true and do not know the ins and outs of how teams are running their cap.

Doesn't matter which way you look at it, when you have 7 players who are taking up somewhere between $3.75 to 4.25 mill (depending on whose estimate you listen to) That doesn't leave much for the other 18 blokes in the squad.

Somewhere between $150 - $200k each player, which would be workable, except for the fact that we know that second rung players like Reynolds, Tolman, Eastwood, Inu, Perrett, Klemmer and one or two others including club captain Ennis would certainly command more than that.

As I said earlier, smells pretty fishy atm. That will all change once we see a few blokes get released. But at this point in time, there isn't even any mention of that. Not even a whisper of players being shopped around. Only the odd Bulldogs fan saying that they feel it will definitely happen in the near future.

there's only 23 players there, so the 24th and 25th player would put them over the cap.
