Cowra rugby league players of all grades will start preparing for a revitalised 2004 season with official training for all grades to start on Wednesday January 7 starting at 6pm at West Cowra Recreation Ground.
It is some years since intending players have had so much enthusiasm well before the season gets underway with a good share of Magpies looking forward to starting the grind for fitness.
The playing strength is already starting to take shape with the signing of Western Division representative Jason Pitt and former Riverina forward Dean Ryan.
Two of the most promising payers in Group 10 Will Merritt and Warren Williams have signed for the 2004 season. This dynamic duo were stars of Cowra's U'18s premiership win last season, both were blooded into grade last year and look sure to have gained real benefit from the experience.
Hard working forward Bob Hunt has also put pen to paper.
He was a huge asset to the Cowra forwards last season and with a stronger more experienced pack around him this time should really make his presence felt.
