Good signing. Still only 26 and played Tests and a Grand Final. Only til the end of the year but sounds like longer has been agreed. Interesting that JT says he will play in the middle, I like him on the edge. Wonder if this might see Sue start and push Grant back to the bench.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of former New Zealand International Elijah Taylor from the Penrith Panthers.
The 26-year-old has been granted an immediate release from the Panthers and will join Wests Tigers training next week following his commitments with the NSW Residents side.
Taylor, primarily a backrower, will significantly bolster the Club’s forward pack and has signed a contract for the remainder of the 2016 season.
With a total of 106 NRL games experience under his belt, as well as 10 Test matches for New Zealand, Taylor is a superb addition to the Club’s playing roster.
Taylor expressed his excitement in securing a new opportunity with Wests Tigers.
“It’s really good to be here at Wests Tigers,” he said.
“I can’t wait to get into training and meet all of the boys next week.
“There is a good opportunity to play first grade football at the Club.
"I haven’t played a lot of first grade this year so I’m really looking forward to the opportunity.
“It’s a really young squad with a lot of potential here at the Club, you can see that with the natural talent and flair.
“I’m also looking forward to working with experienced players such as Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods, while also playing some good football with Wests Tigers,” he said.
Born in Hawera, New Zealand, Taylor made his NRL debut for the New Zealand Warriors in 2011 and was selected for the Kiwis later that year.
Taylor played 67 games for the Warriors before moving to Penrith at the start of the 2014 season.
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that the addition of Taylor is one that fans should be excited by.
“We are pleased to have a player of Elijah’s calibre join Wests Tigers,” Pascoe said.
“It just shows the positive direction that this Club is heading that we are able to attract a New Zealand International mid-season. It’s a really positive sign for the Club and we are committed to building a really strong roster at Wests Tigers.
“We have initially signed Elijah for the remainder of the 2016 season but we look forward to developing a long-term relationship for him as the year progresses.”
Head Coach Jason Taylor said he is excited to coach the former New Zealand International.
“It’s a real coup for the Club to get Elijah on board,” Taylor said.
“He is a high quality player who can play for 80 minutes in the forwards.
“Elijah’s defence in the middle is as good as any player in the game so he will be a real asset for us and we are all really excited to have him join the Club.
“I’m looking forward to him joining us for training next week once his commitments with the NSW Residents side are completed,” he said.

Was a beast for us. A shame the Panthers ruined him. Hopefully he bounces back to his Warriors form.

8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Grant

11. Taylor
12. Lawrence
13. Sue

That's not a bad starting pack at all

One of either Sironen, Halatau or Lovett would have to be dropped back to reserves to accomodate him

Or you could think like JT and drop Felise and have all of them on the bench lol

Only Wests Tigers would get this excited over signing a reserve grader.
Hopefully he gets back to his best though.

So....what will the side look like now?

For me:

1James Tedesco
2David Nofoaluma
3Tim Simona
4Kevin Naiqama
5JAC
6Chris Lawrence
7Luke Brooks
8Ava Seumanufagai
9Robbie Farah
10Tim Grant
11Elijah Taylor
12Kyle Lovett
13Sauaso Sue

INTERCHANGE

14Josh Aloiai
15Curtis Sironen
16Mitchel Moses
17JJ Felise

Some grunt defence & speed but not sure who can kick goals.

He's terrible out wide. Definitely will play 80mins in the middle and make 50+ tackles every week

happy to take your word for it.

id say he'll start from the bench for the dogs game if woods is back and then work his way to lock with sue pushing up and grant to the bench

On the official tigers forum apparently it'll be Lawrence to 6, Rankin to fullback and Moses to centre (wtf)
So Elijah will slot into Lawrence's spot. How accurate that rumour is I have no idea. Naquiama to wing aswell I'm guessing

Also Woods is likely to return against Dogs

No way would i have him as a second rower.

Attack wise he isn't a world beater. Park him next to Brooks as his minder in defence. I'd rather Sue as a second rower. Taylor to lock to roam the middle defensively

Moses at centre. Remember when Moltzen played there? Defensively disgraceful. Moses should be at fullback

More to the point he didn't see eye to eye with the coach. In my opinion he is just what the Wests Tigers need, some starch in their defence. His best position is 13 and that's where he seemed to fall out with Hook, who has always preferred Merrin.

An excellent signing for your team.

Be happy with 2nd grade. Anyway Rankin will be 1 and the rest stay the same.

I reckon play him at 13. He can play in the middle and hopefully hit hard in defence.

Hopefully he makes a difference to our pack. Can he really play 80 quality minutes ? I don't see many guys who play up the middle do that.

He suffered a knee injury last year in round 8,then again in round 21,he injured that knee again which sadly ended his season.Came back this season raring to rip in,but for some reason, has struggled with his form probably due to a lack of confidence.

I hope the best for him, although he'll need time to get back to his best.

It's not often I disagree with you madcap, but seriously..... Moses to fullback, the phrase "open the floodgates" springs to mind!
I'd rather him there, he'll only have to attempt 5 tackles in the game. At centre he'd have back rowers and centres running at him at least 30 times for the match, and he'd miss at least 10 of those tackles.
