deal is worth around 750K a year, so a 500K upgrade on his rookie contract.
It certainly didn't come cheap for the Broncos but the alternative is they release him without a suitable heir. There is certainly a sense of trepidation, especially given the parallels with Anthony Milford, but if anything Ezra only got better during his second season with the club, whereas Milford started falling off mid-way through his second year.
It's going to be a test for Ezra and the club to make this work, but on paper he deserves the investment and he'll be a key cog for the next six seasons.
