Great to hear Namila Davui, Joseph Swamy and Pio Rokomaqisa have all been named in the squad.

Namila would be the best player in the whole squad.

Did Fiji A pull out of the Oceanic Pacifica tournament so they could play Portugal?

I'm so dissapointed they pulled out of that tournament.

Who would you have on the bench girvie? Out of that starting side I would take Joe Delana from five-eigth and move Hamilton Hughes there. Wes Naiqama from the Sydney Bulls to wing and Samu Wara to fullback. Joe Delana and Aaron Groom to battle it out for the number 7 jersey.

Considering Joe is 19 and Aaron is 17, Fiji RL have good young talent coming through in the halves.

Girvie, October 8 is Fiji Day. All the Fijian community will be at the Fiji Day celebrations at Granville Oval. The Fiji/Portugal match will be played as part of the Fiji Day celebrations and the first time Rugby League will be played on the day.

Fiji A Rugby League are trying to embrace the Fijian community and by playing at the Oceanic Pacifica in front of 0 Fijians won't achieve that.

Didn't he slice through the Malta defence at Melita Stadium last year to set up a try in the 40 - 22 win?
Malta fielded 17 players only.
Browne was Fiji A's 22nd player.

Something had to give.....and it took a distant 69 minutes before Fiji A could break the deadlock. Fiji A 40-24 in the end.

They made the right choice then. Its just a pity the Oceanic Pacifica was scheduled for the same day.

I wonder what percentage of that list were rejected by the big-spending Club Rugby teams. All I'd say.

Uate from Newcastle played for Aus schoolboys.
He is a winger who is also nationally ranked for his agegroup for the 100 metres sprint (3rd in his agegroup last year I believe).

Would also love to see John Sutton, Ashton Sims, Wes Naiqama, Wise Kativerata, Setareki Rakabula, Aseri Lainge and Petero Civoniceva playing for Fiji A. Even call back Semi Tadulala from UK and Elia Tuquri from Union and you would have a great looking A and Bati sides.

Possible best Bati line up come 2008:

1 Jarryd Hayne
2 Semi Tadulala
3 Namila Davui
4 Samu Wara
5 Aku Uate
6 John Sutton
7 Elia Tuquri
8 Tabua Cakacaka
9 James Storer
10 Saverio Matairakula
11 Ashton Sims
12 Puna Rasuabale
13 Iowane Divavesi

14 Hamilton Hughes / Joe Delana (utility)
15 Suli Koroi (prop)
16 Semesa Cadrakalagi (utility back)
17 Pio Rokomiqisa (forwards)

Not a bad looking side???
