That is incredibly generous, you sponsor them for say 100 000, you get a 200 000 tax deduction. Lets say the tax rate is 30%, you save 60 000 on your tax.
!00 000 dollars of sponsorship publicity, costs you 40 000 dollars. Not bad.

Smart stuff. I suspect PNG will do something similar with their bid. It shows that the government is united and basically pro-NRL.

The Gov`t would well know that getting an NRL team would literally bring in 10`s of millions of dollars on an annual basis into the Fijian economy. Those tax rebates would pay for themselves several times over.

NZ2 South Island team 18, Perth team 19 and SE Queensland 4 team 20.

then 2 more teams between Fiji, Adelaide and Melbourne2 beyond 2030.
Everyone is acting like NZ2 is a cert, but there remains the big question of finance and we don`t seem to hearing much about that. Talking about fan-funding doesn`t exactly fill me with confidence either.
There is no way the NRL are going to let a club in that has neither assets or strong financial backing, the last thing they want is a club scrapping by on the bones of its` arse.
