Footy trip destinations

I have been put in charge of organising the trip this year and need some ideas of what the best places are to go, best pubs & clubs in that place, best place to stay, etc. Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.

We are based in SE QLD. Probably won't be venturing international. We have done North QLD previously (Airlie, Cairns, etc)... Looking for somewhere different. Adelaide & Darwin are ones I have heard good things about. Probably not too keen on the big cities like Sydney & Melbourne if possible.
