Reality check #1 we are still an outside back or 2 short.

Special mention goes to Fifita and Barba. Barba's first touch was special and Fifita put in a beast of a performance

Fair calls all round.

The lack of size in the starting pack was an issue. Fifita at least took it to them.

Some really poor performances from experienced players. Lewis was bad, Robson bad. The younger players, Holmes and Bird were both poor.

The two new halves will allow us to play faster and kick our way out of trouble against good sides. Need to bring in some younger forwards. Going to have significant turnover at the end of next year with at least 3 retiring.

Dunno how anyone can blame the refs for that shit. Cowboys came out at top speed, played fast, and you know how well we cope with that sort of game. From the first minute we weren't even in the same postcode.

Probably overachieved for the year considering we have probably the worst halfback in the NRL and a coach that realistically got found out tonight. They should have been ready for how the Cowboys were gonna start the game, but they looked shocked. Don't forget Barba on when the game gone yet again.

I'm sure we're all happy to accept the mediocrity though.

Definitely agree that townsend and maloney cant come quick enough. Just needed some one to get to the kick and find touch to get the defensive line reset. Also think we need to decide what position barba plays as 20 minutes off the bench is a complete waste of time especially next year with reduced interchange.

Really lacked leadership from senior players again tonight - we were completed overawed by the occasion.

Nu Brown will hopefully be right to play the 14 role. Barba needs a big off season to get the explosive pace back. Maloney will straighten the left edge out and will provide a running option.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Bird. Once Lewis retires, I can see him playing right edge back rower.

As long as you are talking about reserve grade then I agree. Maloney probably has 4 years left in him, why not play him at hooker and give Robbo another year? Plenty of time for him to be our main half after that...

Up against the cows in a big game like that with no strike power, no 5th tackle options, piss poor defensive reads and the likes of Ennis, Gallen and Barba capitulating showed it all..

Pretty sad really. Plenty of flags and colours all over Cronulla this week, all back in storage for another year or so. But don't go questioning it, just grin and bear it.
Only another two years, maybe one and we might see some real change in a new coach.
