Going No Where!

Well, they get a "location allowance" from the AFL that was 775k this year and 890k last year.

IF that's not a handout I don't know what is. Why do you think they and the Lions get it?

Obviously not because they asked for it......

This bloke calls them "handouts" and he's hardly an NRL sympathiser..

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,9094854%5E19742,00.html

They were given assistance in 1998...

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/10/11/1034222548363.html

And the relocation allowance is just ongoing assistance.

The Swans have provisions within the salary cap for relocation costs and cost of living in Sydney to which they pay for it out of their own pockets not the AFLs

You sound like a whinging footy fan from Victoria.

As for the SMH article, why should the Swans have to pay for the AFL's development work in NSW?

Nearly broke Swans send AFL SOS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sydney football club will be insolvent by November unless they receive at least $1.5 million in emergency assistance from the AFL, The Australian reported.

Swans chairman Richard Colless told the newspaper the club was in a "genuinely life-threatening situation".

"One million won't be enough, two million would be perfect, but hard to get, so $1.5 million is the compromise," Colless said.

The Swans request will go before the AFL Commission and AFL chief executive Wayne Jackson told the Australian: "We are very sympathetic to their position."

He confirmed the club could not trade past October in its present financial state with the Swans' income stream down by $4.5 million on initial forecasts.

The Swans after their stellar season last year actually made a profit of $67,000 with no need for AFL assistance. Why post old news that isn't even relevant you dumb shit

How can it be a handout when the Swans have to pay for it themselves? You are talking about the provisions in the salary cap I assume.

Discount the Penrith crowd.

Thosands of free tickets are given away every game. Otherwise they'd never break the 12-13,000 mark for games. Also another reason that CH NINE TV games arnt rating that well. Fans are simply not interested in the Panthers.

Obviously sour grapes because your team lost this week to Penrith.

Who friggin cares about the Swans. They're just a bloody Melbourne club stacked with gay men from other states.

This is a rugby league forum, not a Swans one. Bugger the fairies.

I do recall reading somewher last week that penrith had a promotion going for last weekends game whereby school children were provided with coupons, which would grant free access to the ground to them IF THEY WERE ACOMPANIED BY A PAYING ADULT

Yes very funny, how about showing us proof of the Swans asking for financial assistance

and this....

No it hasn't liar. There is no proof that the Swans have asked for financial assistance because it hasn't happened.

You are so full of sh*t Jabba.

You asked for proof, you called him a liar yet the following two articles confirm that he's right.

That, once again my testicularly challenged friend, makes you the liar.

And don't bitch that they're old articles, they're both from 2003.

Very interesting reading and I get offered free AFL tickets all the time, in fact I have been offered last night 6 coporate tickets to the Bulldgos game this Sunday.

But if we can get back to my topic.

What are people's views of the League being governed by one body and not the 20 or so that it currently seems to be?

Why do you persist in posting misleading, outdated information that is not even relevant to this debate.

I repeat the Swans have not sought financial assistance from the AFL. Why would they when they have actually posted a profit:

The proof is in the two links that I posted.

The fact is that the Swans have asked for assistance and your feeble attempts to cover up the truth are embarrassing.

The statement wasn't that they are asking for assistance now, but that they have asked for assistance. In June last year they most definately asked the AFL for financial assistance. The Age article confirms it and it confirms that even when faced with overwhelming evidence, you just cannot accept the truth.

Hey mods I think you should move this thread to TFC. It is obvious this is now just another fight between me and EA.

You are such a liar. The Age article merely suggests the Swans were asking the AFL to do their share of the development work in NSW. Hardly asking for a handout. Busted lying again.
