This is my suggestion.

I haven't heard it before and am therefore prepared to take all the credit once the GCRLFC have adopted the name.

All I ask in return is free tickets to the first game.

Won't work.

South Melbourne SC adopted the name SM Lakers in the late 90's, but they were sued by the LA Lakers, and soon became just SM.

Besides, there aren't any lakes near the GC, are there?

IMO, "I support the eg. Broncos" is much more meaningful than saying "I support Brisbane."
