Gower cleared by specialist

Apr 11 - Craig Gower has been cleared by a specialist to play for the Panthers against the Melbourne Storm in Adelaide on Saturday.

The star halfback saw a respiratory specialist today and was later picked in the Penrith squad of 18 which will travel to Adelaide on Friday (Whenever the team travels interstate or to New Zealand, 18 players are taken.).

A CT scan yesterday revealed bruising in the area where the trachea (main windpipe) meets the bronchia.

However, according to the club doctor, James Harrison, the specialist was prepared to clear Gower to play.

“The specialist is happy that nothing major has gone on,” Dr Harrison said.
