Stats, Facts & Milestones

Gold Coast United are aiming to be the first Hyundai A-League club to win their first two matches.
North Queensland Fury players Karl Dodd and Paul Kohler are each set to make their 50th Hyundai A-League appearance

Gold Coast are very good. They have the roster and good style of play.

Be interesting to see how far they go, shame about the crowd but it will probably increase in time.

5-0 in the end. Gold Coast looking very good to back their owner's bold predictions at this point.

Disappointing crowd. Some football apologists say that a club on the coast will always struggle because there's so much else to do, but the Titans never seem to struggle for numbers.

You would hope they'd get more people, the team certainly deserve a bigger crowd, but the crowd is in line with what Clive Palmer expected.

There was a good piece in the SMH last week about it and how GCU havent really made any strong links with the grassroots

Oh, and the Fury are a real worry IMO.

You really cant hope for much when in the pre match interview the manager says they'll play football but then says they want to make things difficult and 'hopefully' jag a goal.....

I'd like to thank the A-League for making a stupid mistake by proving me right.

I said for so long that a Gold Coast team would be a huge mistake. Football just isnt popular enough on the Gold Coast for there to be big crowds to games, especially when there is an established team, an hour away which already doesn't get great crowds.

Hopefully now the A-League will quit these expansion talks and leave it alone for just a little while.

Roar crowds aren't bad for a team that's never achieved anything. They can't expect to draw the crowds the Broncos get.

After the 2010/11 expansions - I daresay we won't see any more for a long time.
