One of the best way to address issues growth of International RL

Is to address the basic issue of how to unify Italian RL

You have a ready made SOO series once they settle the differences

It's so easy to say that as an outsider looking in. Efforts had been made initially, but when the two sides don't want the same thing, it's pretty hard to do anything to 'unify' them. FIRL, the official body, are having a serious go at League, just look at the Saluzzo team and the lengths they've gone to to play regular rugby league and at a higher standard.

The others are union fanatics just wanting to achieve nothing other than creating division and hostilities within our own sport, which sadly, they've achieved with their recent actions.

Spot on the ''World Rugby League'' Italian team do not want to unite, their goal is to cause confusion and hence give Sports Accord a reason to not approve the RLIF application.

They have to be made outcasts by getting official recognition of RLIF. They also then have to have a lack of opportunities made really obvious...... even then it’s a slim chance the rebels will “come home “

Its pretty obvious that RU has just changed their approach to destroying RL....

That than trying to isolate us and push us to the fringes, they are now trying to claim RL and incorporate it under their banner (like Rugby 9s).

Unifying isnt an option here; either surrender or fight.

And we are not surrendering so we fight!

This approch has Murdoch and SL war strategy all over it

Pick on a few disgruntled volunteers (ie Ribots of this modern era in Italy and Greece) and offer them the world

Rebels have a few teams around Rome. They had some in Sicily too, but they left them and join FIRL.

FIRL have clubs mostly in northern Italy (Piacenza, Padova, Saluzzo etc.) and a few in Sicily. Saluzzo are by far the most active, followed by the other northern clubs. Sicily teams seem the least active.

Hmm the Sicilian teams are actually doing a bit of junior development - so they are going about it the right way.
