Has anyone noticed the similarities? Both arrived on the scene very young with a lot of hype due to their last names, Both seem like massive dickheads and are overrated. They play same shitty way where u only notice them when they are putting up a bomb or killing an overlap with a shit decision. They even look alike.

Jonathon thurston didn't nail down a first grade spot until he was almost 22 at the Cowboys in 2005
Cooper cronk didn't become regular halfback until he was 22 at the storm Ben Hunt wasn't considered much until his breakout 2014 when he was 24
Micheal Morgan become a rep quality half at 23 in 2015 (although he had a good season in 2014 at fullback)
Daly Cherry-evans didn't even debut in the nrl until he was 22 in 2011
Adam reynolds was almost 22 when he debuted for souths in 2012
James maloney was in his mid 20s when he had a breakout season with the Warriors in 2011

Just to put things in perspective Hastings has just turned 20

If your not already a dickhead, Playing for the rosters will make an even bigger dickhead. Ryan Matterson you would think was also a clone of Puppy dog Pearce. Which will make him dickhead # 3

Hastings is only going to get better, he's a 6. Had he passed that ball to one of the four blokes outside him yesterday Easts wouldn't have to pay the $60 000 fine.

Playing along side Maloney was the best thing for him but alas, our retention policy. I'm prepared to give a couple more years before he starts humping poodles

If you are going to pile the abuse on someone at least use the correct grammar.....you're.

tbh Pearce is a fine club halfback, so that would make Hastings at least a reasonable long term player.

he's only young, got plenty of time to develop

Last year when Hastings was the starting half with Maloney the Roosters won 3 out the 4 games they played together and the one they lost was by 2 pts when Maloney's kick hit the uprights.
Hastings looked comfortable playing along side Maloney and Hastings was able to try a few things because he had an experienced player along side him. This year because of Pearce he was thrown in at the deep end as chief playmaker with an equally inexperienced 5/8 next to him, of course it was not going to be pretty. Hastings will come good, he needs a steadying experienced player next to him so he can learn the ropes and try different things, hopefully with Pearce back this will take some of heat of Jackson and he can go back to doing the little things right and not be the chief play maker all the time.
The Roosters definitely got rid of the wrong half, Maloney should have been signed for the next 3 years to play and Pearce should have been shown the exit .

So in other words, picking halves in their teens because of their last name is a bad idea?

two of the biggest plodders in the NRL.
Take away the last name and we all know where they would be.. English Superleague reserves.

Hastings will play Origin for 5-10 years because of his last name. You can guarantee that.
