Heartbreaking news just coming in that one of the absolute biggest icons of our club, one of the biggest icons of the game, John Sattler, has passed away today.

Rugby League, South Sydney legend John Sattler dies at age 80: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...0/news-story/07c626464bbc14f3756ac860928a214e

So sad and it's honestly hit me a bit.

Thanks for everything you did for our club Satts, although it was well before my time, your story is one that has been passed down and it will always be that way. I think I can speak for all Souths fans when I say I'll do my bit to pass on your legacy.

Thoughts with his family and friends, the entire Rugby League community is hurting for you.

Rest in Peace Satts.

Very sad to hear of the passing of a South Sydney & Australian great in John Sattler.

Despite his smallish size he was indeed a giant of the game from a very different time when toughness was the yardstick you measured a forward from.

I had the pleasure of meeting when I was a kid and also when I grew up and he was the perfect gentlemen, quietly spoken and always impeccably dressed.

He's now running onto a paddock filled with giants of that bygone era and he will deservedly take his spot in the front row.

Whilst a St George die hard I am always respectful of those that did their clubs proud and John Sattler certainly did that.

Condolences to all his family and all the Bunnies supporters.
