People who make allegations are way more likely to be believed (and almost worshipped) now than they were 30 years ago. Which is great for legit victims but also creates incentives for false allegations and big time difficulties for falsely accused to try to get a fair trial.

A case I'm aware of the victim was not believed as a young girl so she lived with it for 70+ years until the perpetrator was dead. She did not want her husband or sons charged with murder.
