Lauaki out for Newcastle game

Te Mata needs to really seize this opportunity. When he played for Hibiscus he
carved most teams up. I have been a bit disappointed with him since he went
to the Warriors....but maybe that's just coaching.

Lauaki is NOT out of the Knights game, he has a hamstring strain but is expected to be passed fit according to the Herald.
SouthernWarrior what was your source for the news that he was out?

Manu was listed to play for the Auckland Crowns against Waicoa Bay last weekend. In the Kiwi Cup Under 18's.

Auckland won 58-18

Radio sport and both tv3 and tv one had it as he was out of the game so i would say he is out of the game.

Gee I hope he's not. He adds a lot of starch, just breaking tackles in particular he's collosal.

I personally would have liked to have seen either Sullivan, Paleaaesina or Koopu as his replacement. Te Mata was our best forward against Brissie, but then apparently lost confidence which is a little bit of a worry. A lot of potential, just needs to utilise it more.

Manu played for the Auckland Crowns 18's in the NJC against Waicoa
Bay last Saturday. This was his first game since the Warriors trial due
to injury. He had a fairly quiet first half but in the last twenty minutes
of the game he really came into his own. He scored two and set up
another two. Most NJC sides are full of class but this youngster is head
and shoulders above the rest. Providing the media and the Warriors
PR don't put too much pressure on him...he will be one of the best
this country has ever produced.

I had to have a chuckle. When he was playing for Otara in the junior
grades their game plan was "give it to Manu". Guess what the game plan
turned into for the Auckland Crowns....you got it.

BTW, forgot to mention, if you are going to Ericcson on Saturday, try
and get in for the curtain raiser. NJC 18's semi final, Auckland Sealions
Vs Auckland Crowns (Counties v Akarana in old terminology) and you
can have a look at the big fella. If you are not going, the game is
televised on Sky Sport 2 at 5.00 pm.

I heard DA on the radio not long ago. Lauaki is definitely out. Apparently he was so keen to play he didn't tell management the extent of his injury.

But it shows how much he actually wants to play for the Warriors.
