Cricket Australia (CA) today advises that the Matador One-Day Cup matches scheduled to be played at Drummoyne Oval will be relocated to Blacktown International Sportspark (BISP) in Sydney.
Following an assessment of Drummoyne Oval?s outfield this week, CA has decided to move the four scheduled main round matches and the preliminary final from Drummoyne Oval to Blacktown.
CA Senior Manager ? Cricket Operations Sean Cary said: ?We are in the period of cross-over between sporting codes and, as such, the outfield at Drummoyne Oval has been recovering from the wear and tear of an extremely wet winter and the local football season.
?Over the last month there has been ongoing ground work to bring the outfield up to the first-class playing standards required for the Matador One-Day Cup, but it?s not quite at the level we would like a week out from Drummoyne Oval?s first match.
?Blacktown has been selected as the replacement venue as it is a high quality venue that can host day/night broadcast matches and meets the standards required to host this tournament. The rest of the schedule remains the same.
?Drummoyne Oval will remain host of the one-day tour match between an Indian XI and an England XI on 12 January. We have full confidence in the venue to reach first-class requirements for that match,? Cary said.
All five relocated Matador One-Day Cup matches will still be broadcast on the Nine Network?s GEM Channel
