Australian paceman Glenn McGrath remains in doubt for the first Test against Zimbabwe next month as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery.
McGrath underwent surgery on the troublesome injury in August and had his first session bowling in the nets on Wednesday.
Australian team physiotherapist Errol Alcot told The Daily Telegraph that McGrath wont be rushed back until he is fully fit.
"It was basically letting him come off his full run, hit the crease, run through the crease, then we did a few overs letting him release the ball," Alcott said.
"He now has to increase his workload and not pull up with any soreness.
"At this stage it's still touch and go, we still have to go through a few checkpoints first."
According to the newspaper, McGrath will have his ankle re-examined next week by specialist Martin Sullivan.
The first Test starts on October 9.
