Saw this part extract in Big Pond Sports Page and IMO it pretty well sums up our current position.....

No team has won back-to-back premierships since Bennett's Broncos in 1992 and 1993, for very good reason: it is psychologically near-impossible to make as many sacrifices and try as hard after the satisfaction of achieving the game's ultimate goal.
No-one queries the Dragons' talent, but with players knowing the coach is on his way out the door, the biggest battle for St George-Illawarra will be to find the mental toughness necessary to beat clubs which are hungrier for success.

well yeah that and salary cap issues too... were in it though, just gotta hope we time the form correctly into the finals.

only reason our performance is getting so much press, is that the media and opposition fans are obsessed with the Dragons being invincible.. we never have been... so anytime anything happens to us, its backpage material.

We came from behind in the second half in the Wests semi, the Grand Final & the World Club Challenge.

That kind of "mental toughness" just doesn't disappear in 8 months.
