Mixwell Cup

Just wondering what is going on with the Mixwell Cup.

Will we have the same teams and number as this year?

At this stage same 10 team comp as last year, but this will not be officially ratified till late January. Draft draws for either a 21 round or 22 round comp have gone to clubs for comment (play each other home and away plus 3 or 4 extra games - last year was 20 rounds). 22 round would play in line with qld cup except Mixwell games may be played city/country weekend in lieu of divisional carnival weekend. 21 round would not have game divisional carnival weekend (queens birthday).
Clubs have also been asked opinion on 4 or 5 team semis - what do forumers think???

I'd stick with the top 4 system. I'd only change it to 5 if the number of teams increase.

So what happened to the other bids and who were they ????

I'd like to see 5 team semis simply to fit in with the Qld Cup.

5 team semis as top 4 can be settled far too early in the season.

5 teams for a competition of 10 teams is fine.

Bring it in line with the QLD Cup.

stick to top 4 - in recent years especially in the Colts Div. team 5 was that far behind even if they made the semi's it would have been quite embarrasing

You're right about Colts but last year in A Grade 5th place beat the eventual premiers 2 weeks before the finals.... and there was only a few points seperating 1st and 6th
