Still, Anderson averages high 30's in ODI's with the bat and under 30 with ball. That's hard to ignore even if he's struggling at the moment.
Expectations too high on Anderson, and Neesham more talented anyway...
Still, Anderson >>> The Big Show... and despite the sycophantic nonsense from the Ch 9 boys, I'll back Anderson to hit a bigger ball than Marsh, every day of the week
Marsh has got bigger levers.
I like what they're doing with Milne, he's shaping up really well - consistently at 150kph, and even with his 135kph slower balls, his average speed was 149....
Milne needs to be there come world cup time, which means someone worthy misses out.
Actually there is going to be a lot of that.
I wouldn't look too deeply into that batting average, he clubbed a lot of good runs very early but has been pretty quiet since.
I don't think there is room for both Anderson and Neesham, someone has to miss out there.
I agree, but at the same time, to still have that batting average despite being quiet shows how good his runs were early on. That ability doesn't disappear and I'm happy to persevere with him, especially as I think he's better suited to the lower pitches in NZ for his bowling and also smaller grounds for his batting.
Neesham misses out for me.
McClenaghan, Southee, Boult, Milne for the bowlers. I really like Henry, but it's not his time quite yet.
If Mills is fit, I'd still have him I think
Mills is quality if you need someone to tie up an end, but it seems like Southee has become that guy but with an extra yard of pace.
For once we have variety, I'd avoid having two similar style bowlers and run with one spearhead, one left armer, one genuine speedster and one spinner to go with 5 batsman, one all-rounder and one keeper
I'd pick Southee, Boult, Milne and Vettori
