I don't recall calling him a personal hero of yours. Pretty sure I just insinuated he was a rock spider

You did - but it was in response to me saying he was a super talented man.

I really love his body of work - but I'm also aware that he was a man with serious demons, who probably did some very bad things.

As a fan of his work, I was shocked when be died.

As a compassionate human being, I wasn't as shocked.

Lol

You can be as derogatory as you like.

All I did was mention the man's talent, and comment regarding said talent, and you and your mate decided to take that as meaning he is a personal hero of mine.

I think he's one of the greatest entertainers of all time, but there are serious question marks over his private life.

Without wanting to start a whole thing here, I just found your turn of phrase in reply to Dibs' original post a little strange, obtuse even... "In any case - he was more talented than anyone else I've ever seen" Prefacing that statement with the words "In any case", when I read it, gave the impression you're dismissing or placing no importance on his pedo inclinations/actions.

I'm certain it's not the case and my interpretation incorrect (as I am).... if those first 3 words of your post weren't there and it just said "he was more talented than anyone else I've ever seen" I would doubtful have even hit the reply button...

Anyways - let's leave it there. Happy New Year comrade!

That certainly wasn't my intention.

I openly admit Michael Jackson is one.of my favourite entertainers of all time, but I know his legacy will be rightly tarnished because of his alleged deeds involving kids.

I will not blindly defend him - we will never know the truth, but where there's smoke...

But in terms of talent, he was unbelievable, and I don't think we will see a guy with his talent again for some time.

But yeah - despite the fact of love his music, I will never revere him as a lot of other people do because of his alleged misbehaviours.

But I agree with you - I could have worded it differently.

I hope you, too, have a great New Year's Eve, and start 2017 off on the right foot!

What family puts a price on their child's alleged molestation? Dodgy families, that's who. Pay me to go away and we will and don't worry about other kids potentially getting molested we'll take the money and run.

It stinks to me and it was easier to settle for him (Jackson) than keep going through the trial and continue being in the press and losing plenty of PR points.

There is no doubt that he was an eccentric man who didn't have a childhood and as an adult decided to surround himself with the innocence of children. Is that weird? Yes. Is it illegal? I assume not cause they didn't arrest him for surrounding himself with children.

Does that place him in a position to be accused considering his sizeable profile and wealth? Yes. Was he innocent? No idea. Was he guilty? Also no idea.

People will have an opinion though and clearly some "know" he was guilty and others "know" he wasn't but the fact there was no closure makes it hard to "know" anything.

He was one of the most talented human beings on the planet but he also led a life that put him in questionable positions with the world as the stage, not just with the molestation accusations either.

Robbie Williams is also one of the most talented people on the planet.
He didn't resort to some of the shenanigans that GM did. In the end, it's the person.
RW also has had to put up with plenty of media shite. He has also admitted that at times he was in a seriously bad way mentally. Some of it was clearly self inflicted, but much more than that, he has admitted that the pressure he felt with fame was the governing factor.
Gladly, he has worked his way out of that.
I'm not a Robbie Williams fan, but I admire how he has dealt with his life.
