Just thinking that if the International / Rep weekend that was held this year was given the prestige and promotion of Origin.....with the ALL SELECTED players missing in the week leading into the game ..and then possibly after it ( or in a reduced role) .......
....we'd have a pretty depleted NRL comp those weekends with a truckload of players stood down from duty with their clubs in preparation for the rep game for Oz, NZ, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and PNG.
Even if just the Kangaroos and Kiwis were picked a fortnight out and players had to sit out a round it would be as damaging as the Origin impact on the NRL.
