In a business like nrl there is no such thing as profit, it’s a surplus that wasnt spent on something else. For example last year the nrl made a surplus but they also slashed $20mill out of grassroots funding.

Jesus Christ, why do you keep saying that?

They 'slashed funding' aka the cost of funding the QCup, NSW cup, NZRL and other related competitions because they weren't allowed to be played during 2020 (2021 for NZ) because of COVID-19.

You can't even read a balance sheet, why do you pretend like you're such a financial wizard? Just a dribbling idiot.

in 2019 nrl spent $88.4mill on grass roots. In 2022 they spent $70.3mill. A reduction of $18.1million.

Maybe because they realise spending so much money on fumble ball states was a bad roi and places like Penrith or the pacific islands were a better place to produce actual nrl players instead of Auskick type players

Only you would think slashing grassroots funding by 20% is aGood thing for a sport that makes a $60mill surplus!

if you think that $18mill came from wa and vic funding give yourself an uppercut for being so dumb.

Grassroots development and increasing participation is a waste of money now? Thanks Pete lol

still there’s always US college players right?
Penrith is pumping them out

as is nz

and soon png

don’t see afl rejects making a big splash in the nrl

But 350 mill in property assets will be a lasting legacy for the sport

This is how he took his state (and next our soort) from second to first place
By what measure is NSW racing number 1?

Melbourne has four race days with double the crowd, double the gambling revenue and double that ratings. Melbourne Cup has four times the gambling and ratings. Everest isn’t even a group 1 race. The big dollars brings a festive crowd and some good horses, and has been a success, but few people outside of NSW or this forum would even know that it exists.

This is going to be a complete and utter disaster. V’Landys has lurched from one incompetent decision to the next.
