Premiership Criteria

Recent Premiership winning teams have had players in five categories.
Category One. Elite. (International, able to shape a game by themselves)Usually three in this category.
Category Two. Superior. (SOO or equivalent)Usually four players in this category.
Category Three. Journeyman. (Reliably fill a spot as a team player) 8 players here.
Category Four. Juries still out. (Could be up and comers, or players on decline or....Allow 2 here.
Category Five. KOE cup standard. Zero players here.
Our end of 2023 17 had;
Cat 1 one
Cat 2 one
Cat 3 five
Cat 4 nine
Cat 5 one
Our four signings for 2024 all fit Cat 3. And four of our current players should/ could progress to Cat 2 with constructive coaching.
Would that team then be a top 8 contender?

A very balanced summary of current status. Before we get anywhere near the required status an apprenticeship has to be served.

Nice summary warwick,

Kyle has served a fair apprenticeship and may have a breakout year in 24. If he and hunt can gel, its a possibilty he can be pushing for Cat 2 in the future. Wether he is wearing the 9 or 6.
