While the Rabbitohs may have had the week off from playing, team-bonding was well and truly on the agenda this bye week with players, along with their wives and partners, enjoying a night of song-writing and performing thanks to De’Longhi.
Following the success of 2014’s cooking event, it was guitars at ten paces this year as players were split into groups – and with the help of some of Australia’s best musicians and songwriters – required to write, record and perform a song live that would ultimately be judged.
Following some intense workshopping of their songs within their groups, footballers turned into rock-gods as they went in search of the perfect onstage performance.
However, it would be a team containing a combination of wives and girlfriends that would ultimately take out the award for best song.
For Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, the event was all about bonding and family.
“To get away from the environment of footy – it’s always fun to get the partners, girlfriends and everyone involved to do something a little different together,” said Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire.
“De’Longhi play a big part of that – family atmosphere that we have at this great Club - Song Division - they’ve come on board and they’re providing the night for us and Laissez Faire catering have jumped in and given us the opportunity for the night.”

The South Sydney Rabbitohs would like to thank Tom Mitchell from De’Longhi, and the teams at Song Division and Laissez Faire for putting on the night.
