Rabbitohs rumours, signings, injuries etc

The thing that I think sits at the back of my mind is that we are ultimately 3-1 playing at a disadvantaged salary cap of about 1 mil (assuming that’s how much GI is on). Imagine who we could buy for that much money.

Someone needs to be available first before you can buy them. Top quality centres don't just fall out of trees, particularly in April.

If GI calls time, we will need a stack of luck to find a decent replacement at this time of year.

Souths rubbish Greg Inglis retirement rumours as he misses Warriors clash: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...ruled-out-of-rabbitohs-clash-against-warriors

Benji Marshall gives Rabbitohs skipper Greg Inglis some timely advice as he considers his playing future: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...e/news-story/91c734fffe8f8c997adcb2fed5653c25

Some people will slam this but I think this is the best thing for Greg to do. He can just have some time away, think about it, figure out whether he still wants to play and why and he can start to get himself right. Hopefully he finds that fire in the belly again and returns to give it his best shot. I know he can do it!

I think we are just going to have to give him time and as Sam said in a recent interview, give him space. We will have to be patient as I think the plan is just to nurse GI through the start of the Season and then have him start to ramp up form towards the back end of the year. So this is where we're just going to have to be patient and support him.

Not sure how that's all going down with the playing group that the captain needs to go think about whether he wants to play or not.

From my experiences in playing groups, everyone would be more concerned with GI and his welfare than if he is going to play this week or not and may actually be motivated by it.

I’m sure the playing group only care about Greg’s health both physical and mental and as long as he’s working on that while he’s away they would not give a crap.

Way to run crying for help like a spoiled child mate.

Nice little conspiracy theory too.

You'd make a great anti-vaxxer.

Again, if you don't like me, put me on your ignore list. Don't go squealing to the mods when you don't get your own way.

How about we all act like men and argue like grown ups? No need to revert to name calling and stuff like that thanks.

GI blow - Souths would have to absorb $1.5m in cap if Inglis can't go on: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/nrl...ap-if-inglis-can-t-go-on-20190410-p51cvw.html

There are also reports that GI has such bad arthritis in his left shoulder he can barely lift it above the horizontal.

This is not starting to sound good at all I'm not going to lie. I'd love him to carry on but it's not sounding good. Hopefully the media is just building this up a bit and that GI does decide to carry on because I will be absolutely gutted if he's forced into retirement.

That sucks!! So if GI retires on Monday we still don’t free up cap space until 2021. WTF!!!

The papers got it wrong, if a player has played just 1 game in a season he is entitled to his contract money, if he retires he forfeits, any upcoming seasons, different if he has been moved on, now he injured his shoulder and it hasnt come good and it wasnt an ongoing injury, like his knee, then we can claim insurance
