Round 14 Vs The Bunnies

Interesting test for the team.

Bunnies have a few players out, Reynolds & one of the Burgess clan I think.

I'd like to see Yeo go back to the second row and Aekins or Luai into the centres. But i'm not sure that'd be possible because if we brought one of them in I think Naden would be forced out due to the top 30 restrictions?

I'm concerned Luai isn't getting the game time he needs, though. If we can't get him into first grade starting team, I think he'd be better playing a full game in reserves.

I thought Kenny was still the better of the two Hookers against The Roosters, Egan got too much game time for mine.

I think we will see a better team this week. At the moment we are winning on attitude and I think the technical side will start coming now.

Luai needs a role or play 80 minutes in reserve grade to keep him sharp.

Tom and Sam will be missing from the Rabbits as well as Reynolds.

Turner, Burns and Johnson are due back for them.

We will still be without Blake and Whare.

We just need to do what we have done the last 3 weeks muscle up in the forwards and the rest will take care of itself

Naden could of course be given DWZ’s top 30 spot, but something tells me they’ll be keeping that up their sleeve until June 30.

Egan will be on the bench with Martin at lock, fish at prop. Sele won't be in the 17.

I’d love to see Sele in the 17 somewhere & Aekins at centre, but not sure you change a thing to the 17.

I don’t have an issue with not using Luai, I didn’t see the need for it & neither did Cleary. Using the whole 17 for the sake of using 17 seems pointless.

Yeah but if Luai isn’t going to be used he’d be better off in reserves. Can’t see the point of having a hooker & half on the bench this week.

It's more about Luai having game time to keep his game up.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has named his squad to face South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday.

With no new injury concerns, Cleary has been able to name an unchanged 17 from the one that defeated Sydney Roosters last Sunday.

Brent Naden will again require an exemption from the NRL in order to take the field.

The Panthers will wear the 2019 Home Jersey.

Same 1 - 17. The consistency will do us good.

Unchanged but be aware we need an exemption to play Naden again.
Last week with MWZ back we argued he would not be match fit for FG and we cannot select him. The NRL agreed with that.
However there is another twist.
I believe we are still arguing with the NRL that MWZ should only be classified as a winger and therefore we need an exemption to play a centre in Naden.
If the NRL disagrees we will be forced to play MWZ or Jed.
Or as Betcats has suggested Aekins in the Centres.

I hope he plays. If they are forced to pick I'd say go Jed. Might as well get these guys game time.
