After Purtells effort yesterday I think Beau Ryan would be a minor improvement to our winger depth. Still an ordinary signing, but if it means getting rid of Purtell then I'm all for it.

Graham, a former Australian schoolboys rep, is 20 years old and has played 56 first grade games.

Stig is older, has played 2 games or something and is fourth choice at Newcastle (fifth before Henry left).

Graham has playing out of position this year and is poorly coached, but is the far better talent

Former Australian schoolboys rep ... So was Shannon McDonnell and look how average he is. Graham was mediocre at Penrith too, and with 56 FG games, has shown very little. He's got a very poor kicking game and an average passing game - He'd make a better lock.

Stig has shown a lot of promise so far. Great running game with a gun step, got a nice long boot in him and his passing game has looked very sharp. He was ok in NYC for us, but he really started to shine when he made the move to QLD cup and got his team to the GF. After that, he came back to Newcastle and apparently was tearing NSW Cup a new one, then got his chance in FG and hasn't looked back.

Stig looked good against the 2nd worst side in the comp yesterday. But hey, if Penrith want to go with in a flash in the pan (again) instead of investing in a player with real pedigree, then more power to them. Newcastle certainly won't need him next year

Jarrod Mullen, Ryan Stig, Kurt Gidley and Tyrone Roberts all are, plus Tom Rouse making NSW U/18s and SG Ball Player Of The Year, so I'd say as far as producing halves we're doing alright.

This was a conversation regarding halves for which Boyd is not. We brought Boyd to add another match winner to our side not because we had no one capable of playing fullback. As one poster pointed out we have some great young prospects coming through. You want to play the our talent gets pinched card hello no one loses more juniors then Newcastle and Saint George.

"Some"? :lol: We are Manly, Canterbury, and Cronulla's breeding ground. Not to mention the amount of players that go to the other clubs.

Canterbury steal from everyone and yea when it comes to Sydney clubs you guys have been screwed over time and time again. Surprised Easts did not get a mention when it comes to clubs taking your talent.

Why would Brisbane want Lui, i could see him going to Souths but im sure Brisbane have someone better in the lower grades than Lui. He's dead set hopeless.
