Justin O'Neill - Warriors

A nothing signing really, surely they have some juniors coming through that more potential than this guy. Seems the Storm are struggling to retain players and their signings really are bottom of the barrell, are the Big3 on backened deals or are they getting ready to throw some money at some big names...

Merrin to Manly sounds so Manlyesque it has to be true, another perfect liaison for a club that refuses to lay down

And the regular Foran to Bulldogs article

Foran's gone to the Dogs?
The talk has been everywhere this week that Manly five-eighth Kieran Foran is headed to the Bulldogs in 2016 – which is intriguing given both sides square off in Saturday night's semi-final.
At the very least, the Sea Eagles will have to move heaven and earth to keep him when his deal is up next year, such is his frustration at the direction of the club.
Canterbury coach Des Hasler went close to convincing Foran to follow him to Belmore three years ago, before senior Manly players stepped in and persuaded Foran to stay.
Hasler is all but certain to snap up Dragons winger Brett Morris, who would be used at fullback. The Dragons need to move players because of some major issues with their salary cap – partly because of the knock-on effect of snapping up Benji Marshall on a three-year deal earlier this year.
How the Red V faithful cop the departure of Morris – and possibly NSW forward Trent Merrin – because of the signing of Marshall should be interesting.

That's the key word. Laumape/Hurrell are our likely centres. Manu on one wing. Outside of that we have...

Fish - always injured
Fusitua - Last year of NYC
Lolohea - A half who "could" play wing for experience, but is better of learning his trade in NSW Cup. Also last year of NYC.
Kata - Another centre who could play wing if need be. Again, last year of NYC.
Allwood - Canberra centre who could play wing
Abbey/Wilkins - highly rated NYC players, problem being they both only just turn 18 at the start of next season.

Long story short, we have a bunch of kids fresh out of NYC and the Warriors want someone with a bit more experience. Absolutely we have players with more potential long term, but it's the short term they're worried about at the moment.

If they can afford him then I have no issue with the signing. Won't solve their forward issues, but it's still a slight upgrade.

And Merrin -> Brisbane doesn't?

That has got a Bennett ring to it doesn't it. Manly has always been a destination for semi greats who want to be greats, a Manly jersey is like a 1% patch, just putting it on is worth points. Brisbane are struggling to regain that status, I can't imagine any League player not imagining what it would be like playing with Manly

I'll get in early by saying that if Merrin went to Manly he would be another Justin Horo, the last in a long line of 'fmd, didn't know he was that good'

You don't think he's delivered on his promise yet Pops?

Will be absolutely devastating if we lose him to another club.

If Merrin is given the security he needs mate he could be anything, Manly is/was? all about security. Mary is going to have to establish the big C quicksmart if he wants to hang on to a bloke like Trent

It's a beat up. If everyone shows a bit of patience they'll see that the Dragons had to go through a detailed process before sorting out their cap issues for next year & just as importantly, in the years to follow.

It's not just as simple as doing your fantasy team, although the Dragons might've used that approach in the past & are now having to deal with that.

Dylan Farrell and another 2 20's players from the Dragons could be heading to the Sharks.

One is a winger with a shocking surname.
