Can you think of any average (or worse) coaches who won premierships?

2017: Bellamy
2016: Flanagan
2015: Green
2014: Maguire
2013: Robinson
2012: Bellamy
2011: Hasler
2010: Bennett
2009: no merkin
2008: Hasler
2007: no merkin
2006: Bennett
2005: Sheens
2004: Folkes
2003: Lang
2002: Stuart
2001: Hagan
2000: Bennett
1999: Anderson
1998: Bennett

The bloke whose name appears most in that list said that the team's senior players are more important to success than the coach. I'd suggest that plenty of those premiership winners could have won with any NRL level coach at the helm. Hagan and f**king Stuart ffs. Hasler and Maguire got sacked and no other club picked them up. Hasler has won two premierships ffs. Paul f**king Green? He gets Thurston and Scott back from injury and suddenly he's forgotten how to coach?!? I think too many people are very quick to give all the blame and credit to the coach.

Yes but every coach on that list dear Pou, either assembled or was blessed with a great roster. Our average coach hasn't done or been given either of those scenario.

Hence wooden spoon scenario again for the merkin.

And where does the f**ken roster come from merkin?!? Not the f**king coach. Strong rosters come from junior development plus money. We have the junior development stuff bubbling away. Last year we won SG Ball and made the Flegg grand final. This year we again have a bunch of 18s in Flegg, and unlike last year we have a bunch of Flegg-eligible players in reserve grade. Mahoney has played first grade.

The 2007 roster was pretty damn strong and was good enough to win the comp. 2005 and 2006 were very strong as well but losing Fui and Hindmarsh was a huge blow in 05 and in 06 there were too many disruptions.
As far as Brad Arthur goes the 2014 roster underachieved by not making the finals. I thought we had a very strong roster last year and although we made the finals we were unlucky to have to play the eventual premiers and the red hot Cowboys. In saying that I don’t think the team played as well as it could have despite winning a lot of games.

And f**ken TPAs. No coach in the world can do well when you don’t have TPAs to work with.

Lane, LOL. If it’s true which I highly doubt it will truly show BA has got to go.

Lol what?

Are you high? Fancy replacing off contract back up players with other back up players... I don't rate Lane but I don't rate half our current back ups either
