I can't stand Wayne Bennett the hypocritical prick. He has been looked after for way too long and is not the best coach in the game. I reckon most of us here could take that Broncos team to the semi finals. The sooner the NRL have a second team in Brisbane and lessen the monopoly that the Broncos have the better. Also Greenburg needs to change the rules and begin to make public the salaries of NRL players including their "third party" deals.

Agreed, it beggars belief how the NRL can watch teams like Brisbane participate in a supposed salary cap level playing field environment, yet pretend that the salary cap is "doing its job". Meanwhile Broncos TPAs could very well mean that they have a roster valued at $2M above their rivals.

Yeah.

Putting aside our clubs stupidity and white-anting which resulted in our inner workings being revealed like Portuguese
Chicken, the TPA situation isn't fair.

Everyone bends the rules with TPA's to raise the overall $ that are paid to their squad. Clubs like Brisbane have far more opportunities to do so than others.

The sooner the Mt Cootha Merkins are in the NRL, keeping those dirty f**ken Broncos honest the better.

Ironically, adding a second Brisbane team might just make things worse. There's nine Sydney teams after all, so Brisbane might just end up with two super teams.

It's even simpler than publicising player salaries (because they probably would fight that) but just name the third parties that are providing sponsorship to each player. Would at least tighten the sphincters of a few clubs

NRL needs Brisbane, with out Brisbane the TV deal is worth half what it is now.
They also need them successful so the Brisbane public don't switch off.
Remember when NSW won 3 origin series in a row and all of Queensland said origin is dead, no point playing it anymore etc etc, crowds dropped in Brisbane for Origin as well.
Broncos start playing like the Knights and watch the ratings in Brisbane dive and ch9 will blow up and want some TV rights money back.

successful team ?

lol
Brisbane should win title every 5yrs.They havent in 10 yrs and only once in last 16yrs. A team who is a one town team and seems to get a lot of favours is winning on the law of average 1-16 years. Hardly impressive.

Melbourne and Ma ly have been the most inpressive teams in the last decade. Id argue Manly as no cheating cap and no big 3. They also built team a few times and staid succesfull and this year are playing great. Didnt take them long to rebuild from the Foran/Lyon era.

Melbourne have won as many NRL premierships as Brisbane and as many since 2006 as Brisbane. Finals appearances are 10-9 to Melbourne. But Melbourne were cheating for 2006-2009.

Anyone who argues Brisbane aren't a successful club is an idiot. It's incredibly tough to win a premiership. People assume that by making finals all the time you should be guaranteed to win a bunch of premierships, which is simply not true.

But statistics show that you're far more likely to win a premiership if you make the finals.

He said it was no picnic competing for the corporate dollar with fellow national sporting franchises Queensland Reds, Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Roar and even AFL's Gold Coast Suns.

Part of the problem is that he salary cap has 2 Jobs. 1) To restrict expenditure and preserve the financial viability of clubs and 2) to distribute talent. The 2 objectives often conflict (as per the Brisbane situation).
